Attended the 2016 ‘International Tax Justice Academy’, which was hosted in Machakos County, Kenya. After some heavy, fascinating discussions about illicit financial flows; domestic resource mobilisation and the role of taxation in addressing inequality, some of us went hiking.
It’s only six kilometers they said, forgetting to tell me that I’d also have to climb up some hills. Had no regrets though and managed to lose myself in the beauty and tranquility of it all.
